About Us
With 29 years of tailoring experience Orhan began at a tender age under the tuition of the old master tailors at his fathers couture factory in the heart of London’s clothing quarter, the East End. He soon became the head cutter, working on the ambitious patterns of Vivienne Westwood and making samples and small runs for her and Arabella Pollen, Jean Muir and Rifat Ozbek to name a few.
Working with these challenging & exacting designers who pushed the realms of possibility...with designs which required complicated patterns enable
their iconic garments to be produced. Orhan became fascinated with the
challenge of women’s couture tailoring.
“With women there is so much variety, women’s bodies
don’t conform to a regular size & proportion, each woman has different
dimensions that depending on the garment can require more than 20 measurements.
I enjoy tailoring beautiful, well fitted garments that complements &
celebrates the figure, enables women to feel comfortable & confident.”
For men’s suits it is about the silhouette, we begin
tailoring the suit from the shoulders. The identity of a suit begins here, is
it a relaxed Armani style or traditionally English tailored look, perhaps
Italian influences or does it wish to be associated with country sports &
living?
Once you have identified and constructed the shoulders, they establish the
foundations of a good suit, the rest is to cut a great silhouette. Since
men’s suits are single or double breasted the individuality is created through
the cut and styling details, fabrics and finishes.
