Exceptional Pieces,
Expertly Altered
Our couture alteration service brings a maker's understanding to the garments you value most. Whether a designer gown needs reshaping, a vintage piece needs new life or fine tailoring needs a truer fit, it will be handled with exceptional care.
A Calm and Private Experience
Your fittings take place in our welcoming Shoreditch studio with the support of our female consultants. Precious garments often carry stories, so we take the time to understand both the piece and what you want from it.
We will listen to your concerns, explain what can be achieved and give you clear, honest recommendations. You will never be rushed or left uncertain about the next step.
Specialist Attention to Every Detail
Couture work demands a maker's hand. We can reshape structured bodices and jackets, refine necklines and sleeves, balance hems, replace linings and carefully reposition lace, beading or embellishment, so the alteration disappears into the original design.
At your final fitting, the garment should feel secure, effortless and entirely yours. Familiar, but transformed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a couture alteration?
Couture alteration is maker-level work on garments built with structure, hand finishing or embellishment — pieces where moving a seam means understanding how the whole garment was made. It calls for different skills, and different care, from everyday alterations.
Do you alter designer pieces from any fashion house?
Yes. Garments from any house are welcome, from ready-to-wear to couture. We work with the construction in front of us, so the alteration respects how the original makers built the piece.
Can you restore or update vintage garments?
Yes — vintage pieces can be returned to wear, resized for a new owner or subtly updated without losing their character. Ageing cloth and delicate seams shape our approach, and we will talk you through the options honestly.
Can you replace a lining?
Yes. A worn lining can be replaced entirely, giving a much-loved jacket or coat a second life while the outside stays untouched.
Can lace, beading and embellishment be altered invisibly?
That is the aim of every couture alteration we make. Lace, beading and embellishment are carefully lifted and repositioned so the finished work disappears into the original design.
Can a structured jacket or gown be resized?
Often, yes — structured pieces hold cloth in their seams that a skilled tailor can work with. How far a garment can go depends on its construction, and we will tell you plainly at your fitting what can be achieved.
My garment is irreplaceable. How will it be treated?
With particular care. Heirlooms, sentimental pieces and one-of-a-kind garments are assessed before any work is agreed, handled only by senior hands and kept safely at the studio between fittings.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes — couture fittings are by appointment at 25a Pitfield Street, Shoreditch, London N1 6HB, so you have the studio and our full attention to yourself. Telephone 020 7250 3569.
What should I bring to my fitting?
Bring the garment and the shoes and underpinnings you plan to wear with it — proportions and hems are set around how the piece will really be worn.
How long does couture work take?
Longer than a simple alteration, because much of it happens by hand. We will give you an honest timescale at your fitting, and if the piece is needed for a fixed date, tell us when you book and we will plan around it.
