Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a made to measure shirt different?
The shoulder, body, sleeve and collar are cut for you, so the shirt feels polished without restriction — no pulling, gaping or excess fabric.
What collar and cuff options are there?
From classic to soft, feminine to androgynous — collars and cuffs set the character of a shirt and are chosen with your consultant to suit your style and face.
What fabrics can I choose?
Crisp cottons, soft silks and expressive prints, with buttons and finishing details personalised to match.
Can a shirt be styled androgynous or classic?
Entirely your choice — the same craft delivers a sharp classic shirt, a relaxed weekend one or something unmistakably individual.
Can shirts be made to pair with my suits?
Yes — shirts are often commissioned alongside tailoring so collars, cuffs and proportions work perfectly together.
How should I care for a made to measure shirt?
Gentle washing and ironing while slightly damp keeps cotton beautiful; we will give you care guidance for your chosen cloth when you collect it.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes — consultations and fittings are by appointment at our Shoreditch studio, 25a Pitfield Street, London N1 6HB, so we can give you our full attention. Call 020 7250 3569 to arrange a time.
What should I bring to my consultation?
Only yourself, if you like. Reference photographs, a garment that fits well or fabric ideas are all helpful, but plenty of clients arrive with no fixed idea at all — the consultation is designed to find the right direction together.
How many fittings will I need?
Most garments are refined through two to three fittings. At each one we assess balance, comfort and movement, and you will see the piece take shape around you.
How long will my commission take?
It depends on the garment, the cloth and the fittings involved, so we will give you an honest timeline at your consultation. If you are dressing for a fixed date, tell us when you enquire and we will plan around it.
